Getting Started with Trust Wallet

Upon first launch, you'll be given the option to create a new wallet. You will receive a unique 12-word recovery phrase (seed phrase). Write it down on paper and store it securely offline. Never share it with anyone, including our support team.

If you already have a Trust Wallet and need to restore it on a new device, select "Import Wallet" and enter your 12-word recovery phrase in the correct order. Your wallet, balances, and transaction history will be restored automatically.

Wallet Not Showing Balance

If your wallet shows a zero balance or isn't displaying your tokens correctly, try these steps:

  • Refresh your wallet by pulling down on the main screen
  • Ensure the token is enabled in Manage > toggle the token on
  • Check the correct blockchain network is selected
  • Clear the app cache in Settings > Clear Cache

Transaction Pending or Stuck

If your transaction has been pending for a long time, it likely has a low gas fee during network congestion.

  • Wait for network congestion to clear (can take hours)
  • Use "Speed Up" option in the transaction details to increase gas
  • Or use "Cancel" to replace the transaction if available
  • Check network status on the blockchain explorer

Lost Recovery Phrase

If you've lost your 12-word recovery phrase, unfortunately we cannot recover it. Trust Wallet does not have access to your seed phrase — it's stored only on your device.

  • Check all physical locations where you may have stored it
  • Check cloud backups, encrypted notes, or password managers
  • If your device is still working, back up immediately!
  • Contact live chat for guidance on recovery options

App Crashes or Freezes

  • Close the app completely and restart it

The only fees you'll encounter are standard blockchain network fees (gas fees) which go to miners/validators, not to Trust Wallet. These fees vary depending on network congestion and the blockchain you're using.
Can I recover my wallet without the seed phrase?
Unfortunately, no. Trust Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, meaning we do not have access to your funds or your recovery phrase. Your 12-word seed phrase is the ONLY way to recover your wallet. Without it, your wallet cannot be restored. This is a security feature designed to give you full control over your assets. If your device is still accessible, please back up your seed phrase immediately.
How do I add custom tokens to Trust Wallet?
To add a custom token: Tap the filter icon on the main wallet screen, search for the token by name. If it doesn't appear, scroll to the bottom and tap "Add Custom Token". Select the correct network, enter the contract address (you can find this on the official project website or CoinMarketCap), and the token details should auto-populate. Tap "Import" to add it to your wallet.

Tap "Stake" and choose from the available validators. Review the staking APR and unbonding period, then confirm the transaction. Your staking rewards will automatically accumulate in your wallet.
